Long live Paul Walker. Earlier tonight, TMZ reported that the actor, best known for his roles in the Fast and the Furious series, died earlier today at the age of 40 in a Santa Clarita car crash.
A rep for Walker later confirmed the death to the news outlet, with a local news source revealing the car was “engulfed in flames” when deputies arrived at the scene, with two at-the-time unidentified victims pronounced dead.
In calls placed to Santa Clarita Sheriff Station - where the accident reportedly took place - and the Los Angeles County Department Of Coroner, the victims were yet to be identified.
Minutes ago, a statement posted to Walker's Facebook page confirmed the news, announcing that he'd passed away after a tragic car accident.
"It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide," reads the statement, before adding, "He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives."
Walker was in the midst of filming a seventh installment of the Fast and Furious series.
